Battlefield 2042

It is worth noting: we at DICE are nerdy hardcore fans of Battlefield, too. Though we’ve built the games from scratch, every multiplayer match is an exhilarating ride. We live for the unexpected “Only in Battlefield” moments and we seek out community videos of perfectly executed rendezooks. This playfulness was our compass when we set out to create Battlefield 2042. 

Going back to the future was a thrill, too. Seeing the first prototype of the robotic Ranger dog, the early concept art of the new exotic locations, and the lore of the No-Pats gave each team tremendous energy to create the Battlefield of our dreams.

Now, several years after those first rough ideas, we and the community are tackling a game with the classic Battlefield fun factor, combined with never-before-seen gameplay opportunities like Battlefield Portal and the Specialist system. What a time to be alive.
