Pinball Dreams

The game that got the ball rolling for us. Built by five friends from the Amiga demo group The Silents, Pinball Dreams started out as a humble demo. However, it soon became a full-fledged pinball simulation, published in 1992 with the Amiga as primary platform. The game’s four tables captivated high score-chasing gamers and Pinball Dreams quickly became a cult hit. The development team consisted of Andreas Axelsson (programming), Olof Gustafsson (music & SFX), Markus Nyström (graphics), Ulf Mandorff (programming), and Fredrik Liliegren (project management). Andreas, Olof, Markus, and Fredrik founded Digital Illusions in 1992 and stayed on for many years. More than two decades on, Pinball Dreams is still fondly remembered by gamers. Here at DICE, we honor its memory daily by spending some time with the real-life pinball games strewn across the studio.
