Inclusive - Remote First - Mindset
When we set out to create the biggest Battlefield to date we never expected that everything we know about game development would turn on its head due to a global pandemic.
Hundreds of computers were shipped out as everyone prepared for our first ever studio wide long distance collaboration. All to make sure we could provide a safe work environment for our developers and their families.
We have constantly been reviewing and leveling up how we develop remotely - updating our tools, looking at different ways to collaborate, and create a work-life-balance when work is in your home. But the discussion on when we will all be back in the office - and what the future office of DICE will look like - has always continued.
Studio leaders have worked closely with operational leads to survey all our employees and analyse the current situation - and we have decided that we will move into a fully hybrid model of working at DICE. We call this initiative our Inclusive - Remote First - Mindset.
This means our developers are able to work in one of three models:
A Full time on-site model, a Work-from-home / Work-from-office hybrid, or a Full time work-from-home setup. All while still embracing our Inclusive - Remote First - Mindset.
We want to focus on creating amazing experiences where WE are, and enable flexible ways of working at DICE. We believe this will help us have creative freedom in our project while still actively working on maintaining a good work-life-balance, feel belonging, and staying productive - even when the pandemic has passed.
These past years have shaped how we build games across our entire industry, and we are thrilled with the opportunities this brings us.
We are committed to supporting our developers' needs throughout this new format and are really excited about the next step in our studios future.
