Gearing up for DONNA DAY & Sweden Game Conference
We love coming back to DONNA DAY and Sweden Game Conference as we also get so much inspiration from the students that participate - and it also allows us to share our industry knowledge as mentors.
Right now four of our team members are getting their train tickets to Skövde and preparing to travel down to meet with industry colleagues, students, and game enthusiasts during these three days.
Mentor Lydia Andrew (Studio Head of Creative) reflects on what she is most excited about for DONNA DAY as she returns for a second year in a row “I am really looking forward to being in the room with a group of creative, passionate, people – and talking to a range of topics where we share thoughts, ideas, and knowledge”.
Meeting new aspiring talent is always something that we feel excited about, not only that we can bring our knowledge to that space and hopefully help or inspire someone to join our industry - but the amount of different and unique perspectives this group of people bring as well.
Jessica Sollander (Project Development Director) adds, “It is a combination of meeting all of these great people and being able to share my perspective, - but also learning from them. What kind of challenges are they going through? What are they thinking about? How they are reflecting might even reset some of my own expectations on career and work.”.
Joining Lydia and Jessica as mentors will be Anna Wedin (Senior Technical Recruiter, Global Talent Acquisition) and Effeli Holst (Sr Coach). Effeli will, in addition to participating in the organized mentor sessions, hold a workshop session on how to lean into one's own strengths and boost their career “My work at DICE is focused on coaching, mentoring, and growing our studio leaders - helping them empower their teams and succeed. I’m really excited about bringing some of these learnings, tips, and tricks, to this group and help them tap into their own strengths early in their careers to thrive”.
We will be at DONNA DAY from Wednesday October the 2nd, and after you will also catch us at Sweden Game Conference where Jessica Sollander (Project Development Director) , Emelie Fuller (Software Engineer), and Raunaq Singh Sokhi (Game Designer and Product Owner for Game Modes) will hold their talk on The Tetralemma of Game Making.
